Visit of Spanish Educators at Professional High School of Tourism ' Asen Zlatarov" under the Erasmus+ Program

Today, on April 2, 2025, our Erasmus team welcomed colleagues from the Consejería de Educación, Cultura y Deportes – Comunidad Autónoma de Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, as part of the Erasmus+ program. The visit is part of their Job Shadowing activities, with our school being one of the host institutions.

The delegation :

- José Javier– Master Chef, an expert in culinary arts showed us his website and shared his own recipes.

- Cristina– Agricultural teacher, specialized in sustainable farming and environment sustainability presented the structure of the Spanish educational system and their institution.

- Jesus Alberto – Tourism teacher, with experience in hospitality and tourism services discussed the students' practice in hotels, restaurants, etc.

They had the opportunity to learn more about our educational programs, international projects, teaching methods, and practical training in tourism and hospitality. A tour of the school’s training facilities was organized, where the Spanish educators observed specialized classrooms, kitchens, and hands-on student training sessions.

During the meeting we discussed best practices in vocational education, as well as future cooperation and experience exchange opportunities. Special emphasis was placed on the use of interactive teaching methods, modern technologies, and sustainable practices in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and agriculture.

At the end of the day, the guests enjoyed traditional Bulgarian sweets.

This visit is another valuable opportunity for international exchange and professional development, creating conditions for future joint projects and strengthening partnerships between Bulgaria and Spain.

Wax Museum in Çorlu

The Wax Museum in Çorlu offered the participants a captivating journey through history, culture, and art. Housing life-like wax figures of notable historical figures, artists, politicians, and cultural icons, the museum provided a visual and interactive way to learn about influential personalities who shaped history.

Each figure is crafted with meticulous detail, allowing visitors to feel as if they are stepping back in time or meeting these figures in person.

What It Gave US:

Historical Education: The museum highlights important Turkish and international figures, giving insight into their lives and contributions.

Cultural Connection: By exploring the figures, we can understand the significance of these individuals in Turkish heritage.

Art Appreciation: The craftsmanship behind the wax figures showcases the artistry and dedication of the creators.

Memorable Experience: It was a unique opportunity to take photos with iconic figures and immerse ourselves in a fun yet educational environment.

Atatürk House in Çorlu

The Atatürk House is a historically significant location dedicated to the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. This museum-house offers a glimpse into his life and legacy, featuring personal artifacts, photographs, documents, and exhibits that chronicle his journey and the modernization of Turkey. The building itself often reflects the architectural style of the period, enhancing the historical atmosphere.

What It Gave Us:

Insight into Atatürk’s Life: We learnt about his leadership, vision, and the reforms he implemented to transform Turkey.

National Pride: The house emphasizes the impact of Atatürk's contributions, fostering a sense of respect and admiration.

Cultural Understanding: It provides a deeper appreciation of Turkish history and the transition to modernity under Atatürk’s guidance.

Inspiration: Exploring his story motivates people with themes of resilience, leadership, and progressive change.

Visiting both the Wax Museum and the Atatürk House in Çorlu offers a blend of education, inspiration, and cultural enrichment. These landmarks not only preserve history but also provide visitors with a profound sense of connection to Turkey’s past and its ongoing legacy.

The host students were amazing!

Imagine a piano in the lobby and then a young boy starts playing. The maestro + a piano made the combination truly enchanting, turning an ordinary space into a haven of elegance and harmony. His fingers danced across the keys, filling the room with melodies that captivate the soul, creating an atmosphere of sophistication and warmth.

This young and talented boy transformed the lobby from a simple gathering space into a living symphony, where every note invited connection, inspiration, and pure artistry.

Students, teachers and the whole team from Çorlu İmkb Fen Lisesi made our stay unforgettable. Their warm welcome, incredibal hospitality and brilliant organisation of all activities was fabulous.

Working with our fantastic partners was so emotional and inspiring.

Treasure Hunt in Çorlu

It was an adventure that combined exploration, teamwork, and discovery, offering the teams a unique way to connect with the city's rich culture and hidden gems. It challenged the students to solve clues, navigate iconic landmarks, and immerse themselves in the local traditions.

From finding historical sites like the Süleymaniye Mosque to tasting traditional Turkish delights and learning local phrases, every task was a step closer to uncovering the treasures of this vibrant city. This interactive experience was not just a game but a journey that fostered collaboration, sharpened problem-solving skills, and created unforgettable memories.
